CompakBoards are Moisture Resistant panel materials
that can be specified for use in the most strenuous humid domestic
interior conditions where dimensional stability and retained strength
are of great importance. Some examples of application would be kitchen
& bathroom furniture, skirting boards, mouldings, wall cladding, shelving
and flooring.
FRAMEWORK AND INSTALLATION
COMPAKBOARDS can be installed on a wood or steel
framing. Framing components and other surfaces must be straight of
uniform dimensions and properly aligned.
Ceiling:
Ideal to install the Compakboards in 2 ft x 2 ft dimension using 3/16”
to ¼” thick.
Install sheet in a brick pattern with the ends supported by its frameworks.
Hold boards firmly against the framing and start fastening/nailing
at the center of the sheet and moved outward toward ends and edges.
It is best to have 2.5mm to 5mm gap between panels to allow clearance
for possible board extension
Walling/Paneling:
Whole sheet can be installed on walls preferably 3/16” to 1/4” thick.
Start installing in the upper corner of the wall, work across and
down.
Ends and edges of sheets should not be touching the floor base by
providing 2.5mm to 5mm distance from the floor base and joints.
For special designed framings, use the 3/16” thick board and follow
the flow of the frameworks.
The High Strength characteristics for its relatively Light Weight,
make CompakBoard panels an ideal industrial packaging material, reducing
transport costs in this industry. Other advantages gained from this
aspect of the material, mean that it is easier to handle in applications
such as reusable concrete shuttering board, while being formaldehyde
free it can be used for food transportation, in particular fresh food
and vegetables.
FINISHING WORKS
PAINTING / LACQUERING
Fill and level joints with patching compound before painting or lacquering.
Like any other wood materials, primer coating furnished good results
before painting.
Allow each coat to dry before proceeding.
Two or more coatings normally yield its perfect finishing touch.
FURNITURES &
SPECIAL APPLICATIONS
CompakBoards when sanded to a suitable finish, can easily accept Paper
and Decorative Laminates, Formica and natural wood veneers.
The natural wood fibers will surface when lacquered or varnished when
sanded.
HANDLING & STORAGE
Allow curing of boards from 8 to 24 hours by laying it on flat surface
for best workability.
If the boards are wet, dry it through sunlight or hot air in a shaded
area.
Store PhilCOMPAK products on a flat dry surface. Cover the boards
with canvass or other protective materials. Keep it free from leaking
roofs.
Protect corners and edges of the boards from direct hit of hard objects.
